FlashLockTM
Problem:
How to protect electronic storage media from tampering and unauthorized access.
Solution:
FlashLock is a solid-state memory device that hides its content until a host controller is able to authenticate itself. Reading locked Flash memory will fail.
A FlashLock-enabled memory device keeps its content hidden: if you can't see it, you can't hack it. In other words, security is supplied by the Flash memory chip independently of the host to which it is connected.
FlashLock can add an additional layer of protection to systems that currently use encryption. In some cases, FlashLock may be used as a replacement for encryption thereby eliminating the need for more expensive controllers and the added associated overhead.
